A Quality Editorial
Nate Silvers blog "Did Talk Radio Kill Conservatism". Posted shortly after the 2008 presidential election. Five Thirty Eight is one of my favorite websites and in my opinion is by far the most accurate political statistics and polling analyzer around.
Nate Silver adheres to many of the principles discussed. In fact a well placed anecdote in the editorial places someone in the shoes of a talk radio host. Understanding the dynamics of that job gives a solid understanding of from where Silver draws his "logical conclusion".

The Cincinnati Reds have signed the highly touted Cuban pitching prospect Aroldis Chapman. The Reds outbid several other mlb clubs including the Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox.
Cincinatti and Chapman agreed to a six year deal worth just over 30 million dollars.
He's a big young kid, 21 years old (or 22, depending on your source) standing 6'4 and 200 pounds. We'll see what 30 million dollars guaranteed does for his work ethic.
I saw Chapman pitch a few times in the world baseball classic, and his stuff can be nothing less than dominant when he is on his game.
I personally have a few key things I look for in identifying a potentially successfully mlb, or even all-star caliber pitcher. The first one being a healthy and efficent pitching motion. I haven't really found enough video Chapman throwing the ball to make a call on his mechanics. For the time being I'll just keep an eye on his strikeouts per nine innings and walk numbers.
